December VSD

Here's my take on December's sketch photo. It was so snowy and cold looking. I didn't see much color and so I thought the ink drawing with just a touch of color would fit it.

This is a small work, 7 x 5 inches. It was done using a Sakura Pigment pen in a couple of sizes. The color was added with Derwent Inktense pencils.

I did take a bit of creative license with some of the elements in the photo.

Creative license is what it's all about! Very lovely drawing, the warmth of that red barn is so enticing.....Great jog.

LOove the graphic quality here - the ink work almost resembled a woodcut. I'll second the comment about the red accent. Very nice.

The monochromatic look with splashes of color is just perfect! Great line work, too.

Wow! This is so dramatic--I love how you exaggerated all the slight diagonals. The trees are simply fabulous, as is the touch of red!!

The trees look great, and the red against the black and white is a good touch.

Hi, I really like your pen and ink drawing and the touches of colour are just right. Strong composition too I thought.

This puts me in mind of a woodcut.
I love your take on the perspective.

It has a woodblock texture to this painting and a bit of Currier and Ives feel to it too. I feel like I could walk in and be warmed by a fireplace even if it didn't have one. Looks like a great design for a Christmas card too.

I saw your note on my blog saying you're also in NC. Nice to "meet" you! Your work is lovely! I saw your sewing work as well. Talented lady! I live in Cary. Good to meet a fellow North Carolinian!

The ink and stark white really set off the winter theme here.
